“Emilia’s live shows are a lesson in intimacy. Emilia charms her audience to the edge of their seats with her wry smirk and clarion voice — then drops them to the floor with foot-stomping, head-shaking grooves. Two solid albums and a flare for performance have won her a growing legion of fans based around her Portland home. With a new album set to drop soon and more tour dates to follow, it looks as though Maine may have to share its best-kept secret.” -YANKEE MAGAZINE

SINGLE: “Something Outside” is a song for mid-winter,

a balm for grief, and an invitation to connect to the medicine that’s around us.

BLACK LIVES MATTER.

Every day and always. And as a white artist of colonial settler descent living in the unceeded lands of Wabanaki territory, I’m exploring and practicing ways to make this saying, not a token, but a living vow.  I don’t always know how to do this, but I know that actively rejecting supremacy and seeking ways I/we can decolonize ourselves, our institutions, and the systems around us is vital to ALL our well-being.  Decolonizing the Music Room is one resource that’s been so valuable to me as a performer and teaching artist.

Participation and partnership with Atlantic Black Box and In-Kinship continues to teach me much, grow personal and collective perspectives, and participate in the process of moving toward Wabanaki soveriegnty and landback.
